To help families manage internet use and screen time, Sky has launch its Broadband Buddy app as part of its new Sky Boost package.
The innovative app gives parents the freedom to create uninterrupted quality family time by easily pausing the internet, as well as peace of mind for their kids’ online safety by managing access to apps and websites.
It allows you to pause the internet on connected devices for the entire home and for individual family members, perfect for creating dinner time without screen time.
Available only in the UK it works both on your home broadband via WiFi and outside the home through 3G and 4G connections. Managing and monitoring screen time, including individual websites and specific apps, setting bedtimes and pausing the internet is easy with Buddy, even when your children are out and about.
In addition to making it easy to pause the internet, the app can be a great tool to initiate a conversation about how children are using the internet and guide them on how to protect themselves from potential online issues.
Making screen time work for your family
Parents can also see how the devices are being used, as well as being able to review usage history. They can also reward good behaviour by gifting additional time online or allowing access to otherwise blocked websites – a unique Buddy feature.
